The members of FUNDKEY have audited fund accounts at audit firms, executed investments as VC capitalists, and raised from funds as startup CFOs — engaging with funds from many different positions.

Across all of those positions, we kept seeing the same gap: back-offices that depended on individuals, with no shared system and no specialists.

Rather than critiquing it from the outside, we wanted to solve it from the inside, with systems. Coming from outside the traditional fund-admin world, we believed we could deliver a different kind of value — and that is why we founded FUNDKEY.

At EY ShinNihon, audited Japanese and global financial institutions and investment funds. After mastering Japanese GAAP, US-GAAP and fund accounting, joined PrivateBANK Inc., where he covered VC fund formation, fundraising, investment execution and audit response across the front and back office.

At EY, worked on financial statement audits and M&A-related financial due diligence. Back in Japan, joined a startup and contributed to IPO preparation, VC and bank fundraising, and business development.
